lupusintabula - End Game

Link:43350 Sat Jan 23 00:16:48 2010

"You're all making a terrible mistake!" says the Tailor [info]perkyevil.

"She didn't vote to lynch for either the Mayor or the Knight!" shouts the Sheepherd [info]daedalus4096.

"I had three coat orders from [info]millershollow to finish! I didn't have time!" shouts back the Tailor, becoming more nervous.

"Get her!" shouts [info]blackbeardin the Goldsmith. All three Villagers jump her and bind her quickly. She kicks and struggles all the way to the Executioner's stump. Her truthful cries of innocence remain unheeded.

+++++++

Morning dawns, and the Sheepherd blearily rises from among his flock and makes his way down to the Village. Surprisingly, the Church bell hasn't rung yet. The streets of the village are silent, except for the bang of an unsecured shutter in the increasing wind. In the Village Square, a cloaked figure is hunched over a bundle. As the Sheepherd approaches, the figure stands and wheels, its feral eyes flashing yellow. The corpse of the Launderer [info]gjunell lies in a heap, its face contorted in a confused expression.

"You played right into my hands!" growls the feral beast [info]blackbeardin.

"No! I can't be you! You voted for the Mayor! And the Knight!" says the Sheepherd, panicked and backing away slowly.

A gutteral laugh escapes the sharp incisors. "Yes! It was a dangerous gamble, and it payed in spades."

The sheep barely look up as their hear the distant final scream of their former protector.

SUMMARY: [info]perkyevil the VILLAGER is DEAD. [info]gjunell the VILLAGER is DEAD. WEREWOLF VICTORY!

Thank you all for playing. I'm a bit rusty at running, so made a couple of errors. I'm changing both of my Official Rulings to fall more in line with [info]millershollow:

A Seer looking on the Afflicted the night they are changed will see a Werewolf.
A Witch will be informed that there is no victim on the night the Afflicted is activated.
I will reveal the Ralph [info]Nader as a Ralph [info]Nader when he dies, not as a Villager as I did in this game.

What, no Sorceror? :)

I voted on the poll, but I think allocation of specials is ultimately dependent on the number of players.

Werewolf Telepathy might be interesting in a game where there was also a set of villager-friendly specials with telepathy(say Masons or two non-independent seers).

Whoops, missed the Sorceror. Does that mean you're voting to include a Sorceror?

After messing up the Afflicted and [info]Nader, I'll stick to the stuff Joe wrote down. Maybe game 5.

No MiB?

Actually, one thing I'd like to see done is to do the "special" assignments independantly of the "wolf/villager" assignments, so knowing that someone is, say, the witch doesn't prove that they're not a wolf. That'd add an extra level of complexity to the scenario, and would allow more specials to be in the game at once without making the game unplayable.

Problem with the little girl, is I still haven't figured out a way to allow her online . . . it's not like she can be seen peeking online . . . so it suddenly boils down to a die-roll, which I hate . . .

Wolf seer = sorceror. If there's two independant seers, it's very unlikely that both of them will be wolves.

Assume 13 players, 3 wolves, and 2 seers.

3.84% of the time (3/13 * 2/12) both seers will be wolves
57.69% of the time (10/13 * 9/12) both seers will be villagers
38.47% of the time there will be one human seer and one wolf sorceror.

In the 3.84% case, the GM should probably reroll as the game would then be extremely difficult for the villagers.

How about the Werewitch's Healing Potion? It cures Lynching?

Up the the GM.

If it cures lynching, it could save a wolf for tomorrow (useful in endgame, but less useful earlier in that it would reveal the witch to be a wolf, and would just get the wolf lynched again the next day). But then wolves could bluff and unlynch a villager, thus confusing the hell out of the villagers.

If it cures eating, it could be used to enhance the [info]Parzanese gambit (eat a fellow wolf, heal him yourself, and both of you come out as the witch and the healed).

Add her to the werewolf filter for a length of time of her choosing, starting at the onset of night. Post her name in a comment in werewolf-only post when you add her, then delete the comment when she is removed from the filter.

What are the Little Girl and MIB roles again? Perhaps you should respond to these questions on the Master Rules post.

Little girl can "peek" at the eat discussion. If discovered by the wolves, she dies immediately.

MiB wins in either villager or wolf victory, but only if no other specials are alive. Each night, the MiB guesses a name/role combo. If the combo is correct, the target dies.
